Chris Maragoth is a German composer and multi-instrumentalist creating Gothic and Symphonic Metal filled with atmosphere, melancholy, and cinematic depth.

 

His music blends the emotional intensity of Melancholic Metal with orchestral arrangements, dark aesthetics, and a sense of storytelling rarely found in modern metal. Each composition feels like a world of its own - shaped by sorrow, beauty, and the passage of time.

 

Based in Dessau, Germany, a city of history, decay, and rebirth, Chris draws visual inspiration from abandoned places, forgotten architecture, and the silent poetry of ruins. These images find their echoes in his music: every song becomes a bridge between sound and imagery, between darkness and fragile hope.

 

Since the project’s foundation in 2017, Chris has handled songwriting, recording, mixing, and mastering himself, often collaborating with guest artists to expand his sonic palette.

 

His works - including the Tales EP, the single Behind This Door, and the full-length album Gatherer of Souls - have earned international recognition, such as placements on Albums of the Year lists by Metal Devastation Radio and GRIMM Gent.

 

As with all of his previous releases, Chris Maragoth continues to fully abstain from the use of artificial intelligence in the creation of his music, cover artworks, and music videos. Every element is written, arranged, recorded, and produced by human hands. A conscious decision that reflects his dedication to authenticity, collaboration, and emotional depth.

 

In 2025, Chris continues to explore the boundaries between emotion and sound with new releases, including the single Hidden Signs of Sadness and the upcoming EP Depths of Despair.
